Plaza Mural

4620 JC Nichols Parkway

The George Floyd protests that led to tense times in late May of 2020 resulted in significant damage and vandalism to the Plaza Medical Building located across the street from Mill Creek Park at 4620 Mill Creek Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri. The building was heavily tagged with graffiti and a number of windows were shattered throughout that period of unrest. In response to this, 5 artists were commissioned to create murals that would cover the front façade of the building with artwork that would represent family and cultural unity.

The mural that I painted spans (in height) 3 of the 5 floors for this building / parking lot, which is roughly 36ft tall by 75ft wide. I completed the mural, start to finish, in roughly 4 days with spraypaint.

Before. This wall was hit pretty hard with grafitti during the protests that took place on the plaza during the summer, 2020.
