In the summer of 2017, I was hired by the KC Streetcar to add color to a drab portion of the River Market area. The idea was turn the vacant lot into an area that was more visually appealing, as it was located directly across from the parking lot and across from one of the Streetcar stops. While painting, the organization added in benches, concrete planters with foliage and an art installation that was a part of the Art in the Loop projects that same year. The location quickly went from being overlooked to being a destination / meeting spot that’s great for photos.

The art itself is a reflection of the energy and growing vibrancy in the area. There’s an ebb & flow to the work, as it moves around concrete blocks.
